About NexStep PT

NexStep PT is a virtual outpatient physical therapy clinic based in Cumming, GA, in partnership with NexGen Medical Centers — one of Atlanta's established multi-specialty medical groups. That partnership means you'll walk in on day one with a built-in referral pipeline, institutional support, and a reputation that opens doors with patients and referring physicians alike.

We built NexStep PT because we believe physical therapists deserve a better career — one that doesn't burn them out in the first three years. Our virtual practice model lets you deliver high-quality care to patients across Georgia without the grind of a high-volume clinic floor.

The Role

We're looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team as a core clinician in our virtual outpatient practice. You'll evaluate and treat patients via video, build relationships with a growing referral network, and play a meaningful role in shaping a clinic that's still early in its growth.

This is a ground-floor opportunity — the kind where your input actually matters and your career can grow alongside the practice.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive virtual evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver one-on-one patient care via telehealth video platform
  • Coordinate with NexGen Medical Centers physicians and other referring providers
  • Maintain thorough, timely documentation in compliance with state and payer requirements
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and clinical development initiatives
  • Help build and refine clinical workflows as the practice grows

Compensation & Benefits

  • Total compensation up to $125,000 — competitive base salary + KPI performance bonus
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus for the right candidate
  • $2,500 annually toward continuing education and licensure fees
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Flexible scheduling within a virtual practice model

What We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Licensed in Georgia — or eligible and actively pursuing licensure
  • Comfortable with virtual / video-based care delivery
  • Strong clinical communicator with patients and referring physicians
  • Self-motivated and organized; able to manage your schedule and caseload independently
  • Experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, or post-surgical care preferred — but not required
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply — we invest in our team's development

Why This Role Is Different

Most outpatient PT jobs offer high volume, low autonomy, and a path that leads straight to burnout. NexStep PT is intentionally built differently:

  • Reasonable caseloads — we protect the quality of your care and your wellbeing
  • Virtual model — no commuting between locations, no wasted hours
  • Real referral volume — NexGen Medical Centers provides a steady patient pipeline from day one
  • Growth opportunity — this is a clinic you can grow with, not just a job you'll leave in 18 months

Clinical Rotations

We are open to hosting DPT students for clinical rotations. If you are a Clinical Education Coordinator at a PT program and would like to explore an affiliation agreement, please reach out directly.
